Bout of Books - Start-up

Bout of Books 7.0 read-a-thon is finally here!

I've been so excited for this and after I write this start-up post
I'm going straight to reading. Today I can catch around 5 hours of reading before work, so I hope I can manage that. The whole week will be hectic sine I work afternoons, but hopefully I'l reach my goals. I've finally settled on a few books but I'll probably add more or switch those up a bit. So far I know i'll be reading:
  • The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
  • Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
  • Partials by Dan Wells
  • Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
  • On The Island by Tracey Garvis Graves
You can follow my updates on Twitter and on Wednesday I'll be posting the update post with today's and tomorrow's progress. You can link up your updates under this post!

Bout of Books 7.0 - goals

Bout of BooksSo just one more week is left before the official start of Bout of Books 7.0 read-a-thon. During the next week I'll try to push my writing aside and focus more on the reading. I plan to visit most of the participating blogs, if nothing else just to say hello and cheer them on.

I plan to participate in at least one twitter chat, I hope I can manage that even with my rough working schedule. And of course if I can throw my entries in some of the challenges... that would be pretty great too.

As for the books I'll be reading, I haven't yet decided on a whole list, but I've picked the first two books. I plan to post them all once the BoB starts, even though I don't like to plan my reading, I usually just go by my instinct. However I'm 100% sure I'll be reading The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. I've heard nothing but good things about the first one and am really excited about the second one. So these two are for sure. Others... we'll see. (:

What do you plan to read? Will you be participating in chats? ^^

Bout of Books 7.0

Bout of Books
"The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 13th and runs through Sunday, May 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 7.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books." - From the Bout of Books team

This will be my third BoB read-a-thon and I'm pretty sure it will be another epic experience. I love it how it connects readers, bloggers, everyone! The Twitter parties are always a lot of fun, since a bunch of us is usually goofing about random things like bananas and cherry popping. It's great to stick your head just into books and blogging atmosphere for 6 days and 'be' around people that are interested in the same things. This is just a sign-up post and an invitation to everyone else to join me and others on Bout of Books, I promise you won't be sorry. (:

Dewey's Read-A-Thon

I just signed up for the 24h long Dewey's Read-A-Thon that starts tomorrow, on 27th April. I signed up this late because I wasn't sure what I'll be doing tomorrow, but it's a work-free day + I got sick so my plans for tonight's clubbing fell apart. Right now I'm not sure for how long I'll participate. If I'll go for full 24 hours or less.

As for the books I'll be reading. Hm. I have to finish Lover Mine by J.R. Ward, then novella Elixir by Jennifer L. Armentrout and this is how far I got. I'll be editing this post and tweet all the way through the read-a-thon, so I'll keep you posted. ^^ Did any of you sign up too? What books do you plan to read tomorrow?

Update #1
I'm finally managed to settle on a pile of books, though I'm not sure if these ones will be actually while I read. It's hard for me to plan my reading, but I'll try it this time, I guess. I might throw in some short stories from my tablet too to spice it up. It all starts in a little less than 6 hours and I'm already bursting from excitement. Wooo!

Introductory Questionnaire

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? That would be Ljubljana, Slovenia.
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? Finishing Lover Mine by J.R. Ward and also The Madman's Daughter.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? There's lunch coming up in the next few minutes and it'll be yummy, then some strawberries with cream, some healthy cookies with different kinds of nuts, bananas and honey. And finally in the evening comes a special Chinese soup. That will warm me up indeed.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I like turtles and owls.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? This is my first one. It's a challenge for me because I often start to get sleepy while reading in the evenings so I hope to go on for as long as I came. I'm putting life on a shelve for the next 24 hours. ^^

Hour 2 Mini-Challenge: Book Spine Poetry!

Hour 4 Mini-Challenge: Re-title Your Current Book
I would re-title Lover Mine to ''Bonded Males go Coo-Coo''.

Okay, so unfortunately the rest of the read-a-thon didn't go exactly as planned. I'm a really slow reader these past few weeks, but I managed to finish the novella Elixir by Jennifer L. Armentrout and I've read more than 200 pages of Lover Mine. It's no great, it's nowhere near my goals, but I'm not giving up. I'll be participating again in October and that time around I'll be beyond prepared and will definitely go for the full 24 hours. See you then!
